Mrs. Oni Wemimo

President

Oni Wemimo is an educator and social worker with robust experience in charity works. She is a graduate of Guidance and Counseling, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She also has a Master’s degree of the same university in Guidance Psychology with option in STIs, HIV & AIDS. She is currently undergoing another master degree at the University of East London, United Kingdom.

Wemimo work and experience revolve around Sexual and Reproductive Health Management (SRHM), STI, HIV and AIDS, orphans and vulnerable children and persons with disabilities. She has been an encourager to women at the grassroots on issues of girl child education and women empowerment. She is a social mobiliser and she actively champions women active inclusion in election process. Wemimo has strong passion in betterment of women social class and girl child education. She founded Adult Literacy Centre where young women without formal education are trained in basic literacy and arithmetic.

Apart from academic qualifications, Wemimo has been trained by both local and international partners such as United States Agency for International Development (USAID), AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN), Society for Women and AIDS in Africa, (Nigeria chapter), Society for Family Health (SFH), Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH), HACEY Health Initiative, European Cooperative for Rural Development (EUCORD), Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria, Positive Life Association of Nigeria (PLAN) , Shell Nigeria Corporation (SNEPCO) and many others etc.

Mr. Oni Isaac

V. President

Oni Isaac is a social worker and a graduate of University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He also studied Peace and Conflict Studies from the same university at master level. He is a passionate youth educator who has coordinated many training and seminars funded by World Bank, UNICEF and other multi-national organizations.

As an experienced social worker, Isaac has worked with many non-profit organizations on projects that border around social development and equal rights. He is a social advocate on rights of Persons with Disabilities. Isaac has special interest in working with vulnerable groups. He has impacted lives of Persons with Albinism (PWAs) and visually impaired. On many occasions has advocated for provision of free sunscreens PWAs, free sanitary pads for girls and provision of support for aged and persons with genetic abnormalities. He also has track record in supporting widows and counseling youth caught in the web of drug and substance addiction. As part of his advocacy, he has been a regular face on different radio and television stations on social issues like rape, child abuse, child trafficking and disabilities. He has on embarked on research to the Republic of South Africa on Xenophobic Attacks on Nigerian Migrants in South Africa, at Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg.

Isaac belongs to several social groups and networks such as Civil Society Scaling up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS SUNN) and Community Chest Council and Community Intervention Network on Drugs.

Dr. Bukola Adetola

Dr Bukola Adetola is a lecturer in the Department of Ecotourism and Wildlife Management, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. She had her Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, Master & Ph.D. Degrees (Wildlife and Ecotourism Management) from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

In addition, she completed an approved programme of study at Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in the United Kingdom and was awarded the Graduate Certificate in Endangered Species Management by the University of Kent. She is a highly motivated researcher with vast academic experience and community service. She has over 40 articles as research publications in highly reputed local and international journals to her credit. Dr Bukola combines her teaching, research, training, counseling, and advocacy duties in the field of biodiversity conservation and ecotourism successfully with her passion to helping the disadvantaged and less privileged in the society.

Dr. Bukola is a member of Society for Conservation Biology (USA), Tropical Biology Association Africa Alumni Group, African Forest Forum, Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World, Durrell Conservation Learning Network UK, Wildlife Society of Nigeria, Association of Women in Forestry and Environment, Nigerian Association of Zoo and Wildlife Park, Nigeria Conservation Foundation, Association of Critical Heritage Study and Ecological Society of Nigeria amongst others.

Outside the sphere of academic, she is the Secretary, Foundation for Rescue of Abandoned African Children (FRAAC), Director, Net link Environmental Conservation Organization (NECOR), Program Director Advocacy and Mobilization, Women Advancement for Environmental Preservation (WAEP Foundation) and Music Minister, Jesus Preachers Ministry.

Dr. Temidayo Olusanya

Dr Temidayo Olusanya is a graduate of Chemistry with option in Biochemistry at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She possesses a postgraduate certificate in Applied Biochemistry at Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State; funded by the National Institute of Freshwater Fisheries Research, Nigeria (NIFFR).

She also has B.sc Biopharmaceutical Science at Institute of Technology, Sligo, Ireland while undergoing her M.Sc. in Leadership and Human Resources Management at University of Law, United Kingdom. She also obtained her PhD in Pharmaceutics from the University of Portsmouth, School Pharmacy, United Kingdom. Dr Temidayo has worked on formulation of anti-cancer drugs and delivery vehicles for boron neutron capture therapy of cancer.

Dr Temidayo is a member of Prof. Amal’s Pharmacy research group at Sunderland University, United Kingdom. She got an Associate Professorial Research Fellow position at Prof Moss’s laboratory, at Birmingham University, United Kingdom. She is currently a Senior Laboratory Scientist at Federal College of Freshwater Fisheries Technology, Kanji, Niger State, Nigeria. She has impacted rural and urban slum communities’ women through her anti-cancer initiatives and campaigns in Nigeria.

Dr. Bola Taiwo

Dr Bolanle Taiwo is a veterinary doctor registered with Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN). She is a Correctional Officer with the Nigerian Prison Service. Dr Bola is a graduate of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She also has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria.

As security personnel, Dr Bola has undergone many training that are relevant to rehabilitation of inmates and drug addicts, in Nigeria Prison. She has worked at the Nigeria Prison, Dog section, Kirikiri, Lagos, Nigeria.

Mrs. Afolabi Funmilola

Mrs. Funmilola Elizabeth Afolabi (RN, RM) is a registered nurse and registered Midwife in Victoria Hospital, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from Oyo State College of Nursing, Eleyele, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. As a registered nurse, she also has an in-depth knowledge in midwifery programme.

Nurse Lola (as popularly called) is a graduate of Our Lady of Apostles School of Midwifery, Oluyoro Catholic Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. She had further nursing education in Saskatchewan Polytechnic (SaskPoly) Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada obtaining Canadian registered nurse license. Nurse Funmilola has also worked as a registered nurse at O&G and ICU units of University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria (2009-2013).

She is an experienced nurse who has worked with youth, Person Living with AIDS, patients with cancer and women with reproductive problems. She is highly skilled in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aids.

Ms. Ayoola Adewale

Ayoola Adewale is a PhD candidate of Agricultural Economics, University of Ibadan, where she is researching the impact of the National Cash Transfer Programme on households’ vulnerability to poverty. She holds both Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Agricultural Economics, also from the University of Ibadan.

She has vast project management experience, wherein until December 2020, she was Technical Assistant to the National Coordinator of the World Bank Assisted Federal Operations Coordinating Unit-Youth Employment and Social Support Operation, Abuja, Nigeria. She has actively particated in trainings and fellowships like the World Bank Managing Successful Impact Evaluation Surveys, the Centre for Economic and Allied Research’s Fellowship, International Institute for Tropical Agriculture and International Fund for Agricultural Development’s Policy Brief and Scientific Writing Workshop etc. She is interested in research, project management, writing and capacity building.
